Welcome to part 2! I will introduce you to my other 4 pets that I have had, part 1 was just on my first dog Tango.
I mentioned in Part 1 that Tango was my soul mate dog. Well, I am very very lucky and have had 2 soul mate dogs. Meet Diggory! Yes, he is named after Cedric Diggory from Harry Potter. He never gets called that though…only when he is in trouble. We usually call him Diggy or Diggs but we have also been known to call him Wiggles, Diggles, Diggle Wiggle…you get it. He is an 8 year old Black Mouth Cur/Shepard mix me and my husband rescued in September 2014. He was 4 months old and was next in line to be euthanized. We didn’t live together yet, so my husband brought him to his apartment (I had Tango and lived with my mom). The first night he was so scared. He hid under my husbands desk and refused to come out. When I got off work, I went over there like I usually did, and hand fed him. Slowly. Piece by piece. And he very slowly started army crawling out from under the desk. He has been attached to my hip ever since. He was about 25 lbs when we got him, and everybody (including the vet) said he was full grown. Ha. See pictures below. Like Tango, he was also in our wedding.
Diggy is 8 1/2 years old, and is a couch potato. Every since Tango died (Diggy was 4) he kind of stopped acting like a puppy and starting being my protector. He is actually my registered Emotional Support Animal. He always knows when I’m upset, even if I’m in the other room. He will come RUNNING. If I’m crying, he will crawl on my lap and just let me cry into him fur. He loves carrots and being lazy! He also looks sad 94% of the time…you’ve heard of resting bitch face? Well meet resting sad face!

Next up by age, our cat Charles! My husband had Charles when we met, and he was an awesome cat. He didn’t scratch, he didn’t bite, he was quiet, he didn’t get on the counters (although he liked opening up cabinets) and loved to just chill on your lap. I’m convinced he wasn’t actually a cat. Sadly, in January 2019 (January is a rough time for pets) we noticed he just wasn’t feeling good. He was lethargic, sleeping a lot, not really interested in eating. We thought he just had an upset stomach or something and it would pass. On the third day, he was barely even moving so we took him to the vet. We explained what was going on and the nurse’s face just fell. She got the vet, and he looked him over and confirmed Charles had a blocked urinary tract. He needed emergency surgery, which they didn’t offer. We called and called and called looking for a place that was still open, and took payment plans. We couldn’t find anything, and the vet said even if we found somewhere, it would cost upwards of $5000, and he would be surprised if Charles survived the drive over there. And if he did, the vet said he only had about a 20% chance of surviving the surgery. Unfortunately that left us with one option, and he was humanly euthanized in my husbands arms at the age of 6. He had extremely bright blue eyes, a very…distinct white mustache and absolutely loved Diggy and Loki.

Next! Our current cat Oliver. He is a 5 year old Maine Coon/something else mix. He’s cool. He’s friendly and likes to play rough. He also peed on my face when we first got him…so I’m still a little bitter about that (just kidding, sort of). He got him after Charles died, he was 1 year old and needed a new home. He likes to play with Loki but isn’t big on cuddles or sitting on your lap. However…he is toilet trained. Yes, you read that correct. He has no litter box, we trained him to use to toilet. He is extremely soft and fluffy. Well…that’s Oliver!

Last we have Loki! Loki is a 5 year old Border Collie and boy did he take that name as a challenge. God of mischief indeed. We got him when he was only 8 weeks old, so he was both of our firsts as having a PUPPY. He’s cute, but is a little shit. Although, he is definitely starting to mellow out. He loves to run and will play until he passes out. His favorites are rope toys. Border Collies are known for being smart and graceful….not Loki. He traded all of his smart for cute. He has zero disregard for personal space, but then again neither does Diggy. It’s crazy the difference between a rescue dog and a non rescue. Diggy and Tango were both rescues, and it definitely showed even though I got them both still very young. You can tell there is some trauma there. With Loki, he hasn’t had a hard day in his life and he acts like it. He’s pure, and innocent, and his love is different. He is currently in training to be my emotional support dog for when Diggy passes (which hopefully isn’t for many many years).

Thanks for reading! Sorry for the photo dump…actually, no I’m not sorry. These are my children…so no apologies.
